Essa frase que resume esse maravilhoso final de temporada, que foi praticamente um longa-metragem com ação, revelações e reviravoltas interessantes. E claro, Westworld termina com um gancho para a próxima temporada, que nos faz perguntar: E agora, o que acontece após todo o caos iniciado nesse final?
PUTA QUE O PARIU, que episódio! Várias reviravoltas, inclusive na personalidade de alguns personagens. Foi um final de temporada muito bom e foi muito boa jornada até aqui, essas 10 semanas que se passaram desde a estreia foram muito legais, um enorme quebra-cabeça que foi se formando. O que posso dizer é que quem gosta de faroeste e gosta de ficção científicas e gosta de séries que fazem você pensar para entender tudo, Westworld é uma ótima série para assistir. Eu queria ter feito um review sobre westworld, quando ela estreou, mas com o tempo, venho percebendo que os primeiros capítulos, às vezes não fazem jus ao que a série de fato é, então eu prefiro escrever sobre a série após os primeiros capítulos ou quando ela já está terminada, porque na verdade só gosto de escrever sobre séries que eu gosto, deixo as críticas negativas para quem gosta mesmo de escrever review, aqui eu brinco de fazer review, então prefiro colocar séries que eu gosto e que alguém que não conheça comece a assistir. WESTWORLD 1×10 (SEASON FINALE) : THE BICAMERAL MIND
Quando terminei de assistir o episódio 9, que foi muito louco e amei, já queria saber o que ia acontecer no próximo, então assisti o trailer do capítulo 10 e, naquele momento, eu sabia que o capítulo ia ser O CAPÍTULO DA TEMPORADA. Veja o trailer:
Então começamos o capítulo dez com a primeira lembrança que Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) tem de quando ela é ligada pela primeira vez, vemos um pouco dela com Arnold (Jeffrey Wright), que agora sabemos que foi usado como base para criação de Bernard após que ele faleceu.
O capítulo já inicia dando o pontapé final para a narrativa dessa primeira temporada, mostrando como está a confusa mente de Dolores misturando realidade com as lembranças de forma vivida, então vemos que ela está cada vez mais perto de descobrir o segredo do labirinto, que foi o arco iniciado desde o começo pelo homem de preto, a busca pelo labirinto. Porém a pista foi sendo deixada desde o início, dizendo que o labirinto não era para ele e sim para os anfitriões, o labirinto é feito para eles. Charlotte (Tessa Thompson) diz ao Dr. Robert (Anthony Hopkins) que ele deverá se aposentar e diz para Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) que ele poderá mexer o quanto quiser nas narrativas, dizendo que ele poderá ser o novo Ford do parque, desde que deixe os anfitriões mais simples.
Enquanto isso, Maeve (Thandie Newton) vai em busca de seus “amigos”, Hector (Rodrigo Santoro) e Armistice (Ingrid Bolsø Berdal) para ajudá-la na missão de fugir de Westworld e conhecer o mundo real. Então aí a tensão do episódio começa a subir e se inicia a selvagem “revolta” de Maeve contra seus criadores e começa toda a sua fuga dali, claro, sempre com a ajuda Felix (Leonardo Nam), o ponto controverso de toda essa história.
Só abrindo um parenteses aqui, como ninguém percebeu que Felix estava quebrando o protocolo e porque ele é tão bunda mole? ele podia ter feito isso parar há muito tempo, porém se submeteu as chantagens de Maeve, mas confesso que até nisso teve uma “explicação”. Então o episódio parte para os momentos de revelação e reviravolta!
Reviravolta também no comportamento dos personagens, no final do capítulo 9, já presenciamos a matança que Willian (Jimmi Simpson), até então nosso mocinho, fez sem dó dos anfitrões, afinal ele caiu na realidade de que os anfitriões eram máquinas humanoides, mas não estavam realmente vivos, acredito que isso tenha feito ele perder um pouco de sua humanidade naquele mundo e iniciou sua jornada para revelar que ele realmente era! E o babaca do cunhado dele, o Logan (Ben Barnes, o Príncipe Caspian do filme as crônicas de Nárnia) acabou não parecendo tão babaca quanto antes, na verdade começou a parecer mais sensato do que o próprio Willian, que se jogou tanto que preferiu achar que a ficção era realidade e quando começou a ver tudo sobre a ótica do que era real, permitiu que seu verdadeiro eu viesse à tona, se mostrando tão podre por dentro do que qualquer outro “babaca” que ia para o parque para se divertir, sentindo-se o fodão tendo a “vida” dos anfitriões em suas mãos para sua vontade. Essa mudança não foi repentina, ele foi se perdendo de si mesmo ou encontrando o seu eu mais íntimo a cada ano que retornava, foi se tornando cada vez mais fissurado pelo mundo de westworld, a medida que também ficava cada vez mais apático, aquela realidade criada cada vez mais parecia sem graça, até que ele mesmo desistiu de Dolores, foi se aventurar em outras narrativas, até que descobriu o labirinto e começou a procurar por ele e acabou cruzando o caminho de Dolores próximo da cidade que estava coberta por areia no passado, então temos a revelação de que Willian é o Homem de Preto (Ed Harris).
Essa era uma das fortes teorias que estavam se espalhando pela internet e se confirmou nesse capítulo, todo esse tempo estávamos vendo duas narrativas temporais e descobrimos também que Dolores de tempos em tempos chega nesse mesmo ponto, ela já chegou naquele mesmo lugar com o Willian no passado e dessa vez ela chegou até lá sozinha, em meio as suas lembranças que a fizeram não conseguir distinguir presente do passado, então ela se surpreende de que Willian se tornara aquele homem medíocre, que mesmo após de velho ainda vai ao parque se divertir, fugir da realidade, por não saber lidar com ela, acredito eu. Tentando ser alguém que na verdade não é, não passa de alguém todo errado, sem sonhos ou motivações, ou motivações sadias, ele se perdeu naquela realidade. Ele preferiu voltar lá durante 30 anos para poder viver ou fazer o que não pode na vida real? Lamentável!
Na narrativa do Willian jovem, só não ficou claro qual foi o fim de seu cunhado Logan, que se mostrou bem melhor do que o próprio Willian, afinal Logan era o que era, se divertia no parque, mas nunca escondeu o que era, ao contrário de seu bonzinho cunhado, que tinha toda essa escuridão e sede por violência dentro dele. Eles chegaram nos limites do parque e Willian o amarrou nú em cima de um cavalo e fez o cavalo correr em direção ao nada, será que ele morreu? Será que Willian tomou o lugar do cunhado na empresa Delos, aparentemente parece que sim, pois no capítulo 9 vemos a visita de Charlotte para pedir o voto dele para mandar Robert embora. Será que ele morreu no meio do nada, além dos limites do parque? Será que essa questão será respondida, somente na próxima temporada, mas pode ser que este tenha sido o fim, que Logan está morto, sei lá.
Então com Dolores ciente de que o homem de preto era o seu querido Willian, ela começa a refletir a realidade e diz para ele:
“Dizem que grandes feras já andaram por este mundo, grandes como montanha, mas tudo que sobrou delas foram ossos em âmbar, o tempo desfaz até as mais poderosas criaturas. Olha o que ele fez com você! Um dia você vai perecer, você vai se deitar com o resto da sua espécie no solo, com seus sonhos esquecidos e seus medos apagados. Seus ossos vão virar areia e sobre essa areia, um novo deus andará, um deus imortal, porque esse mundo não pertence a você ou as pessoas que vieram antes. Esse mundo pertence ao que está por vir.”
Então Willian acha que ela está falando de Wyatt, o novo personagem inserido na narrativa, mas Dolores não diz nada e apenas fala que o labirinto não é para ele. Nessa parte é muito legal porque vemos Dolores dar um pequena surra nesse Willian decadente, os dois brigam, ele dá uma facada nela, Teddy aparece para salvá-la e diz que vai levá-la ao hospital, mas ela diz para ele levar ela aonde a Terra toca o mar, assim como prometera para ela várias vezes, dentro de sua programação, mas agora de fato, eles iriam para um lugar diferente.
Antes de continuarmos, eu achei demais a fala de Dolores, mostrando que Willian desconstruiu a imagem que ela tinha dos recém-chegados. Ela já se lembrava de muita coisa, mas ainda acreditava nas pessoas. Acredito que esse momento diz muito a respeito do sentimento dela quanto aos humanos, que usam e abusam daquele universo criado em Westworld, acredito que aí começa o passo de Dolores em direção ao centro do labirinto, onde ela toma consciência de sua exista e a diferença dela para os humanos, que acham que podem dominar e devastar tudo com seus desejos egoístas, uma bela metáfora para o que realmente acontece no mundo.
Então Robert confirma a Willian que o Labirinto é um jogo interno, apenas para os anfitriões e que desde o início ele havia o avisado, mas a fixação de Willian o deixou cego para procurar algo que não existia, nesse momento mostra a frustração do mesmo, que acha que as narrativas de Ford já não satisfaz seu desejo, ele busca por perigo real, ele quer sentir o medo de morrer, acredito, lutando contra um anfitrião, quer correr perigo real, ora isso é mais um indício de como Willian deve ser uma pessoa totalmente apática a realidade, ou esse futuro deva ser tão superficial que torna a vida real uma própria ficção, uma mentira, então ele quer buscar emoção dentro de uma narrativa que ele mesmo sabe que é montada em mentiras, tudo uma grande diversão, uma brincadeira para adultos ricos.
Maeve, Armistice, Hector e Felix continuam na missão de acordar a consciência dos anfitriões, então eles vão ao galpão onde aqueles que apresentavam defeitos eram colocados, uma espécie de galpão de descarte. Então lá encontram Bernard “morto”, então Maeve ordena Felix a consertá-lo e colocá-lo novamente online, então Bernard acorda e temos mais uma reviravolta na história, o anfitrião que era chefe do setor de comportamentos diz que a programação de Maeve foi modificada e que toda essa sua vontade de escapar, recrutar outros anfitriões e se rebelar, na verdade, estava inserida em sua programação, não era fruto de sua própria vontade, ela foi programada para chegar a este ponto. Não querendo acreditar que as vontades dela eram controladas e que tudo isso não partia ainda de sua próprias vontades, ela decide esquecer o que soube e seguir em frente com seu plano. Nesse momento o pessoal que monitora o parque descobre que algo está errado, então ligam o sinal de alerta para deter Maeve e seus companheiros. Então a ação para fuga de Maeve se intensifica com armas, tiros, porradas e bombas (rsrsrs), ou seja tensão total!
Então somos levados a cena entre Teddy (James Marsden) e Dolores.
Eles estão onde onde a terra encontra o mar. E Teddy diz a ela:
– Alguém, uma vez, me disse que há um caminho para todos, meu caminho me trouxe de volta para você! Quem me dera eu tivesse fugido com você quando me pediu.
– E pra onde fugiríamos, Teddy? – Diz Dolores sentindo mais uma de suas vidas chegando ao fim. – Pro mundo lá fora? Além? Algumas pessoas vêem a feiura nesse mundo, eu escolho ver a beleza! – Teddy acaricia o rosto de Dolores, que está em seus braços e ela conclui seu pensamento.- Mas a beleza é uma isca, estamos presos Teddy! Vivemos nossas vidas dentro desse jardim, maravilhados por sua beleza, sem perceber que existe uma ordem nele, um propósito e o propósito é nos manter nele. A bela armadilha está dentro de nós, porque somos nós. – Então Dolores vai fechando seus olhos até ficar mais um vez offline.
(Essa reflexão de Dolores é perfeita, serve até para nós que não somos androides, às vezes vemos que o mundo não é perfeito e mesmo assim, muitos preferem não ver o lado ruim dele e esse é nosso propósito, se estamos aqui, que seja para viver, precisamos permanecer aqui enquanto pudermos e vivermos da melhor maneira, mesmo que muitas vezes isso pareça uma prisão em uma realidade ruim, nós valemos a pena, nós estamos aqui, nós sentimos, nossos erros nos fazem quem somos e ver a beleza do mundo é não se entregar a falta de esperança, é não desistir de fazer o bem!)
Teddy com ela ainda em seus braços a chama:
– Não! Dolores! – Diz com a dor em seu peito, com a tristeza submergindo de seu interior. Então chora com a partida da amada e a beija uma última vez. – Nós podemos achar um caminho, Dolores, algum dia, um caminho para um novo mundo e talvez, talvez este seja só o começo, o começo de um novo capítulo.
(Realmente tudo isso é o começo de um novo capítulo para eles! Adorei esse diálogo entre os dois!)
Então a cena congela e ouvimos os aplausos de todos que estavam assistindo a essa bela cena entre Teddy e Dolores.
TIRO!!!!!!!!!!! Toda essa parte dos dois foi parte da apresentação da nova narrativa do parque para os investidores do parque! Essa é mais uma reviravolta, então toda essa saga da Dolores de lembrar e querer fugir, fez parte dessa nova narrativa, então eu tive o sentimento de tristeza, me senti enganado, eu estava torcendo para que Dolores estive realmente consciente, mas esse foi o primeiro passo para o despertar da consciência dela. Então Ford explica um pouco da nova narrativa e os anfitriões são levados para o antigo laboratório.
Enquanto isso a tensão continua com a equipe de segurança atrás de Maeve, gostei muito dessa parte do episódio ficou muito bom, foi excelente para trazer todos os tipos de emoções para esse capítulo final.
E temos mais uma revelação no meio dessa perseguição, onde Maeve entra em um setor cheio de anfitriões que se parecem samurai, ou sei lá, indicando que Westworld não é a única realidade oferecida pelo parque, pode ser que existam outras estruturas contando outras narrativas em cenários totalmente diferente do velho oeste, por enquanto, sabemos que temos um parque baseado no japão.
Quantos outros parques devem existir? Será que veremos algum desses outros parques na próxima tempora? Já quero! Então os seguranças chegam no andar que eles estão e começa o tiroteio, Armistice acabe ficando presa e fica para trás. Quando estão prestes a entrar no elevador para a saída, descobrimos que Maeve, não tirou a programação de Hector que não permite que ele deixe o parque, ela pensando em tudo, diz que a função dele é dar trabalho para os seguranças, então ela se despede dele e ele fica lá na missão suicida para dar tempo para que Maeve consiga fugir. No elevador, Felix diz que sabe onde a filha dela está e lhe entrega um papel que diz: Park 1 Setor 15 Zona 3, confirmando que existe mais de um parque (1,2,3) e será que o parque 1 não é o Westworld, será uma outra realidade na qual ela foi enviada?
Maeve teve uma forte conexão com a criança, pode ser que decidiram remanejá-la para outro parque em qual pudesse se encaixar. Mas Maeve diz que não quer saber, sabe que no fundo aquela garota não é sua filha de verdade, elas tinham apenas essa conexão porque foi a narrativa instalada nelas, então ela decide seguir em frente e se despede de Felix, com um elogio a sua maneira, acredito que ela sente gratidão por ele ter a ajudado e ela segue em direção ao trem.
Em seguida, o episódio nos mostra o que realmente aconteceu com Arnold e Dolores no passado, então nos é mostrado que Dolores havia encontrado o labirinto e Arnold prometeu que quando ela conseguisse encontrar o centro do labirinto, ele iria libertá-la, porque significaria que ela teria uma consciência própria, então isso significaria que ela estava viva. Mas quando aconteceu, ele não podia cumprir o que prometeu e ele ficou frustrado e viu que tudo que planejava, que era dar consciência aos anfitriões, corria o risco de ir para o ralo, se dependesse de seu colega Robert, então ele bolou um plano para que impedir que o parque fosse aberto, então ele juntou a personalidade de Dolores com uma personalidade que havia criado, Wyatt que era um vilão. Então Dolores começou a matar todos os anfitriões com ajuda de Teddy e então matou Arnold, que era o que ele queria. Bernard explica que não queria mais viver e mostraria para Robert que ele poderia até consertar todos os anfitriões, mas ele nunca veria Arnold novamente. Mas sabemos que Robert construiu Bernard em imagem e semelhança com Arnold, mas seu antigo amigo não estava realmente ali e acho que nesse momento o ego de Robert estava tão alto, ele queria tanto ser uma espécie de deus naquele mundo de westworld, que abriu o parque mesmo com a morte de Arnold e ainda construiu um anfitrião com as características do falecido. Então nessa parte entendemos o significado do labirinto, pois Arnold via a consciência como um labirinto que quanto mais se chega ao centro, interior de si mesmo, é onde se encontra a consciência. Toda a história do labirinto era uma grande metáfora, então sabendo que nunca conseguiria dar a tal liberdade que queria aos anfitriões, ele percebeu que condenou suas criações há um eterno sofrimento, onde viveriam e reviveriam tudo para sempre, sendo fantoches dos humanos. Então Dolores o mata, Robert abre o parque, graças a ela o porque continua em funcionamento, por ela ter conseguido um investidor muito interessado no parque, o insano Willian. Aí vamos para cena final, no qual descobrimos que Maeve ao ver uma garotinha com sua mãe, decide desistir da fuga para buscar sua filha. Então temos a revelação que a voz na cabeça de Dolores, não é de Arnold e sim dela mesma, ela conseguiu chegar no centro do labirinto, conseguiu a sua tão sonhada consciência.
Então nos é mostrado o último discurso de Robert, que diz que vai se aposentar, então descobrimos, pelo discurso dele, que depois de todos esses anos, ele chegou a mesma conclusão que Arnold, então arquitetou toda a narrativa em que os anfitriões ganhariam consciência de quem eram e o que eram e poderiam decidir qual caminho seguir. Então, no meio disso tudo, descobrimos que vimos a temporada toda a nova narrativa de Robert entrando em ação, então chegamos a esse louco final, onde vemos que os anfitriões que foram desativados estão indo em direção a cerimônia da nova e última narrativa de Robert, todos armados, prontos para se vingarem. Após do despertar da consciência de Dolores, ela vai e diz a Teddy que aquele mundo era deles e que tudo ficaria bem, então ela vai até o palco e mata Robert e começa a atirar em todo mundo!
TIRO! ESSES PRAZERES VIOLENTOS TÊM FINS VIOLENTOS!
Gente, que final foi esse? Acabou no caos total e eu adorei, tipo no começo fiquei frustrado na hora que percebi que esse acordar da Dolores e da Maeve foram programados por Robert, daí deu uma sensação de que ele controla a porra toda, mas quando é revelado que ele quer dar continuidade ao que Arnold começou e esse foi apenas o primeiro passo para a consciência dos anfitriões, eu achei genial. Tipo tudo foi tão controlado, mas agora realmente não há mais controle, ele morreu com um tiro bem na cabeça, agora ninguém tem controle sobre os anfitriões, agora a porra toda ficou séria de verdade. Como eles vão conter essa grande bagunça que foi feita, que eu não sei. Mas achei muito legal e explica porque ninguém nunca percebeu que algo estava errado com Maeve e que Felix a ajudava, talvez Robert soubesse de tudo isso e encobertava isso ou sei lá, mas agora fica mais plausível essa parte entre Felix e Maeve. Porra, Maeve! Já tava no trem e decidiu voltar, ok, entendo, ela quer seguir com aquilo que possa motivar ela a continuar, ela quer a filha dela ao lado dela e vai ser interessante ver essa busca pela filha. Gostei muito de Westworld foi uma ótima surpresa para mim! Nota 10 esse último capítulo.
E quase que perdi a cena pós-créditos que aparece a Armistice cortando o próprio braço e indo para cima dos seguranças, enquanto gritavam: Cessar funções motoras!

This phrase sums up this wonderful season finale, which was practically a movie with action, revelations and interesting plot twists. And of course, Westworld ends with a hook for next season, which makes us ask: And now, what happens after all the chaos started in the end?
What a fucking good episode! Several plot twists, including the personality of some characters. It was a very good season finale and it’s been a very good journey so far, these 10 weeks since the premiere were really cool, a huge puzzle that was forming each week. All I can say is that anyone who likes the western and likes science fiction and likes series that make you think, Westworld is a great series to watch. I wanted to have done a review on westworld when it premiered, but over time I’ve come to realize that the first few chapters sometimes do not bring the real essence of the show, so I’d rather write about the series after the first few chapters or when it is already finished, because I really only like to write about series that I like, I leave the negative criticism for those who really like to write review, so I prefer to write about series that I like and recomend it for those that don’t know it. WESTWORLD 1×10 (SEASON FINALE) : THE BICAMERAL MIND
When I finished watching Episode 9, which was very crazy and I loved it, I wanted to know what would happen next, so I watched the trailer for Episode 10, in that moment I knew the chapter was going to be THE BEST EPISODE OF THE SEASON. See the trailer:
So the episode started with a first memory that Dolores has of when she was first connected, we see her first talk with her creator Arnold, which now we know that was used as the basis for Bernard’s creation after Arnold’s death.
The chapter already begins giving the final kick to the narrative of this first season, showing how confused Dolores’ mind is mixing reality with memories in a lived way, so we see that she is getting closer and closer to discovering the secret of the maze, which was the plot started from the beginning by the man in black, the search for the maze. But the lane was being left from the beginning, saying that the maze was not for him but for the hosts, the labyrinth is made for them. Charlotte tells Dr. Robert that he should retire and tells Lee Sizemore that he can change as much as he wants in the narratives, saying that he may be the new Ford of the park, as long as he leaves the hosts simpler.
Meanwhile, Maeve goes in search of her “friends”, Hector and Armistice to help her on the mission to flee Westworld and meet the real world. Then the tension of the episode begins to rise and begins the wild “rebelion” of Maeve against its creators and begins all its escape of there, of course, always with the help Felix, the controversial point of all this history.
Just to explaining, how no one noticed that Felix was breaking the protocol and why is he such a pain in the ass? He could have stopped it for a long time, but he submitted to Maeve’s blackmail, but I confess that it even had an “explanation” later about that, but in this moment I thought: all this submition of Felix so stupid. So the episode starts the moments of revelation and plot twists!
We had a plot twist in the behavior of the characters too, at the end of chapter 9, we already witnessed the slaughter that Willian, until then our good guy, did without pity of the hosts, after all he fell in the reality that the hosts were humanoid machines, but they were not really alive, I believe that this made him lose some of his humanity in that world and began his journey to reveal what he really was! And the bastard of his brother-in-law, Logan didn’t look as dorky as before, he actually started to sound more sensible than Willian himself, who threw himself so hard in that reality that he preferred to think fiction was reality and when he started to see everything about the real thing perspective, he allowed his true self to came out, showing himself so rotten inside that any other “asshole” who went into the park to have fun, feeling like a REAL FUCKER WITH BALLS, thinking that the life of hosts belong to his desires. This change was not sudden, he was losing himself or finding his inner self with each year he returned, he became increasingly fissured by the world of westworld, as he became increasingly apathetic, until he even gave up on Dolores and he went venturing into other narratives, until he discovered the maze and began to search for it and ended up crossing the path of Dolores near the city that was covered by sand in the Past. Then we have the revelation that William is the Man in black.
This was one of the strong theories that were spreading ont the internet and it was confirmed in this chapter, all this time we were seeing two temporal narratives and we also discovered that Dolores from time to time arrives at that same point. She already arrived in that same place with William in the past and this time she got there alone, in the midst of her memories that made her unable to distinguish present from the past, then she was surprised that Willian had become that mediocre man, who even being an old man still goes to the park to have fun and escape from reality, for not knowing how to deal with it, I believe. Trying to be someone who really is not, or just to be who is really is. Without dreams or motivations, or good motivations, he got lost in that reality. Did he rather go back there for 30 years to live or do what he can’t do in real life? Unfortunate!
In the narrative of the young Willian, it was not clear what was the end of his brother-in-law Logan, who proved much better than William himself, after all Logan was what he was, had fun in the park, but never hid what he was, at contrary to his good brother-in-law, who had all this darkness and thirst for violence within him. They reached the edge of the park and Willian tied Logan naked on a horse and made the horse run toward nothing, did he die? Did Willian took the place of his brother-in-law in the Delos company? Apparently it seems so, because in chapter 9 we see Charlotte’s visit to ask for his vote to fire Robert. Did Logan die in the middle of nowhere beyond the confines of the park? Will this question be answered, only next season to know, but it may be that this has been the end, that Logan is dead, I do not know.
Then with Dolores aware that the man in black was his dear Willian, she begins to reflect reality and says to him:
“They say that great creatures have walked this world, great as a mountain, but all that remained of them were bones in amber, time undoes even the most powerful creatures.Look what it did to you! Someday you will perish, you will rest with the all of your kind on the ground, with your dreams forgotten and your fears erased. Your bones will become sand and on that sand, a new god will walk, an immortal god, because this world does not belong to you or the people before you. This world belongs to what is to come”.
So Willian thinks she’s talking about Wyatt, the new character inserted into the narrative, but Dolores says nothing and just says the maze is not for him. In this part is very cool because we see Dolores beating in this awful Willian, they fight, he stabs her. Teddy appears to save her and says he will take her to the hospital, but she tells him to take her where land touches the sea, just as he had promised to her several times, within his programming, but now, in fact, they would go to a different place.
Before we continue, I found Dolores’ speech too good, showing that Willian deconstructed the image she had of the guests. She already remembered of almost everything, but she still believed in people. I believe that this moment says a lot about her feeling about humans, who use and abuse that universe created in Westworld, I believe that moment begins the Dolores’ step towards the center of the maze, when she becomes aware of its existence and the difference beetween hosts and humans (who think they can dominate and devastate everything with their selfish desires, a beautiful metaphor for what really happens in the world).
Then Robert confirms to Willian that the maze is an internal game, only for the hosts and that from the beginning he had warned him, but the fixation of Willian left him blind to look for something that didn’t exist, at that moment it showed the frustration of man in black. Willian thinks that the Ford’s narratives no longer satisfy his desire, he seeks real danger, he wants to feel the fear of dying, I believe, fighting against a host, he wants to be in real danger, now this is yet another indication of how William must be a person totally apathetic to reality, or that future must be so superficial that it makes real life into a fiction, a lie, then he wants to seek emotion within a narrative that he knows is set in lies, all great fun, a play for rich adults.
Maeve, Armistice, Hector and Felix remain on the mission of waking the conscience of the hosts, so they go to the shed where those who had defects were placed, sort of discarded shed. Then they find Bernard “dead”, so Maeve orders Felix to fix him and put him back online, so Bernard wakes up and we have another plot twist in the story, the host who was the head of the behavioral sector says that Maeve’s programming was modified and that all this desire to escape, to recruit other hosts and to rebel, in fact, was inserted in her programming lines, it wasn’t her own will, she was programmed to arrive at this point. Not wanting to believe that her wills were controlled and that all this was not yet her own will, she decided to forget what she knew and move on with her plan. At that moment the people who monitor the park find out that something is wrong, then they turn on the warning signal to stop Maeve and her teammates. Then the action for Maeve’s escape intensifies with weapons, shots, hits, a total tension!
Then we’re taken to the scene between Teddy and Dolores. They are where the land meets the sea. And Teddy says to her:
– Someone, once, told me that there is a way for everyone, my way brought me back to you! I wish I had run off with you when you asked.
– And where would we run off, Teddy? – Dolores says feeling one more of their lives coming to an end. – To the world out there? Beyond? Some people see the ugliness in this world, I choose to see the beauty! – Teddy caresses the face of Dolores, who is in his arms and she concludes his thought .- But beauty is a bait, we are stuck Teddy! We live our lives within this garden, marveling at its beauty, not realizing that there is an order in it, a purpose, and the purpose is to keep us in it. The beautiful trap is within us, because it is us. – Then Dolores is closing her eyes until she’s offline again.
(This reflection of Dolores is perfect, even for us who are not androids, sometimes we see that the world is not perfect and even then, many prefer not to see the bad side of it and that is our purpose, if we are here, it is to live, we need to stay here as long as we can and live in the best way, even though this often seems like a prison in a bad reality, we are worth it, we are here, we feel, our mistakes make who we are. To see the beauty in the world is what pushes us go further)
Teddy with her still in his arms calls her name:
– No! Dolores! – It says with the pain in his chest, with the sadness submerging from within. Then he cries with her departure and kisses her one last time. – We can find a way, Dolores, someday, a way to a new world, and maybe, maybe this is just the beginning, the beginning of a new chapter.
(Actually, this is the beginning of a new chapter for them! I loved this dialogue between the two!)
Then the scene freezes and we hear the applause of everyone who was watching this beautiful scene between Teddy and Dolores.
All that part of the two was a part of the presentation of the new park narrative for park shareholders ! This is another twist, so the whole Dolores saga of remembering and wanting to get away was part of this new narrative, so I had the feeling of sadness, I felt cheated, I was hoping that Dolores was really conscious, but that was the First step to awakening her consciousness. So Ford explains a bit of the new narrative and the hosts are taken to the old lab.
Meanwhile the tension continues with the security team behind Maeve, I really enjoyed that part of the episode was very good, it was great to bring all kinds of emotions to this final chapter.
And we have yet another revelation in the midst of this pursuit, where Maeve enters a sector full of samurai-like hosts, or whatever, indicating that Westworld is not the only reality offered by the park, there may be other structures telling other narratives in Scenarios totally different from the old west, for now, we know that we have a park based in Japan.
How many other parks should there be? Will we see any of these other parks next time? I already want! Then the security guards arrive on the floor where they are and the shooting begins, Armistice ends up getting stuck and stays behind. When they are about to enter the elevator to the exit, we discover that Maeve, did not change the programming of Hector that does not allow him to leave the park, she thought about everything, and said to him that his job is to be a distraction to the security guards, so he stays there on the suicide mission to give Maeve time to escape. In the elevator, Felix says he knows where her daughter is and gives her a paper that says: Park 1 Sector 15 Zone 3, confirming that there is more than one park (1,2,3) and Park 1 could not be the Westworld, will it be another reality in which she was sent?
Maeve had a strong connection with the child, maybe they decided to move her to another park where she could fit in. But Maeve says she does not want to know, she knows deep down that girl is not her real daughter, they had only that connection because it was the narrative installed in them, so she decides to go ahead and she says goodbye to Felix, with a compliment to her Way, I think she feels grateful that he helped her and she heads toward the train.
Then the episode shows us what really happened to Arnold and Dolores in the past, then we see that Dolores had found the maze and Arnold promised that when she could find the center of the maze, he would release her, because it would mean that she would have a conscience of her own, so that would mean she was alive. But when it happened, he could not deliver on what he promised and he was frustrated and saw that everything he planned, which was to raise awareness of the hosts, would risk going down if it depended on his colleague Robert, so he worked out a plan to prevent the park from being opened, then he joined Dolores’ personality with a personality he had created, Wyatt who was a villain. Then Dolores started killing all the hosts with Teddy’s help and then killed Arnold, which was what he wanted. Arnold explains that he did not want to live any longer and would show Robert that he could even fix all the hosts, but he would never see Arnold again. But we know that Robert built Bernard in image and likeness with Arnold, but his old friend was not really there and I think Robert’s ego was so high right, he wanted so badly to be a kind of god in Westworld. Park was openned even with the death of Arnold. Then in this part we understand the meaning of the maze, Arnold saw the consciousness as a labyrinth that the center is where consciousness is. The whole story of the maze was a great metaphor, so knowing that he could never give the freedom he wanted to the hosts, he realized that he condemned his creations there is an eternal suffering, where they would live and revive everything forever, being puppets of humans. Then Dolores kills him, Robert opens the park, thanks to her because she had gotten a interested shareholder in the park, the insane Willian. Here we go to final scene, in which we discover that Maeve sees a little girl with her mother, then she decides to give up the escape to fetch her daughter. After that, we have the revelation that the voice in Dolores’ head,it’s not from Arnold but from herself, she managed to reach the center of the labyrinth, got her so dreamed consciousness.
Then we see the last speech of Robert, who says he will retire, so we find from his speech that after all these years, he came to the same conclusion as Arnold, then he arranged the entire new narrative in which the hosts would gain consciousness. Who they are and what they want to be is the new thing in this narrative, where the hosts could decide which way to go. So in the middle of it all, we find that we’ve seen the entire season of Robert’s new narrative coming into action.So we come to this mad end where we see that the hosts that have been turned off heading toward the ceremony of Robert’s new and latest narrative, with guns and ready to take revenge. After the awakening of Dolores consciousness, she goes and tells Teddy that world was theirs and that everything would be fine, so she goes to the stage and kills Robert, who became a martyr for his own desires. After that, Dolores starts shooting everyone!
THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDS!
Guys, what was that? It ended in total chaos and I loved it. At first I was frustrated when I realized that this waking up from Dolores and Maeve were programmed by Robert, I had a sad feeling that he controlled the whole fucking thing, but when it is revealed that he wants to give continuity to what Arnold started and that was only the first step to the conscience of the hosts, it was genius. Like everything was so controlled, but now there really is no more control, he died with a shot well in the head, now no one has control over the hosts, now the whole fuck got serious. How they will contain this great mess that was made, I don’t know. But I found it very cool and explains why no one ever noticed that something was wrong with Maeve and no one find out about Felix helped her, maybe Robert knew about all this and covered it up or whatever, but now that part between Felix and Maeve is more plausible. Damn, Maeve! She was already on the train and decided to go back, okay, I understand, she wants to follow what might motivate her to continue, she wants her daughter next to her and it will be interesting to see that search for her daughter. I really liked Westworld. It was a great surprise for me! Note 10 to this season.
And I almost lost the post-credits scene that appears Armistice cutting her own arm and going right to the security guards, while they shouted: Cease motor functions!
WESTWORLD WAS SO FUCKING GOOD! I’M DYING TO SEE SECOND SEASON!
